The dispute over five Schiele drawings that have been owned by the Jewish businessman Karl Mayländer until his deportation in 1941, is settled now.
Eva Zirkl (95), the US-resident heir of Karl Mayländer, gets back two out of five drawings from the Leopold Museum. Under the leadership of Ferdinand Graf, the law firm Graf Isola has represented the heir of Karl Mayländer for years in this case. “We are glad that this complex and emotional case has been settled finally in favor of our client”, says Ferdinand Graf.
The dispute focused on the seizure of the drawings during the Nazi regime, the acquisition of the drawings by Rudolf Leopold and the responsibility of the Republic of Austria for the actions of the Leopold Museum.
Ferdinand Graf and his team assist numerous clients home and abroad in matters of art law and restitution law.
